Nicholas T. Donovan

Nicholas T. Donovan is the founder of Donovan LLP and is the head of the firm's real estate practice. Mr. Donovan is responsible for overseeing and handling all aspects of the firm's real estate practice, and has a strong background in most areas of commercial real estate law, including purchase and sale transactions, development projects, leasing, real estate financing, foreclosures and workouts, hotels and hospitality matters, issues affecting not-for-profit institutions, and real estate partnerships and joint ventures.

Nick attended Davidson College, where he played on the football team, and graduated from New York University, where he was a Stuart Becker Scholar and graduated with honors with a degree in Economics. Mr. Donovan graduated from Fordham Law School and began his law career in the Real Estate Department of Winthrop Stimson Putnam & Roberts (now Pillsbury Winthrop), a large Wall Street law firm.

Mr. Donovan is a member of the Columbus Citizens Foundation, where he sat on the Board of Governors for six (6) years, and presently sits on the Board of Directors of The Catalog for Giving.

Linda Donovan

Linda Donovan, born, raised and resides in Queens, New York. Education: New York University, St. John's University (Bachelor of Science,1992); Brooklyn Law School (J.D. 1998; Member of Journal of Law and Policy).

A partner at Donovan LLP, Ms. Donovan has extensive experience covering a wide array of real estate matters. Ms. Donovan's practice area is concentrated on commercial leasing, representing landlords and tenants in connection with office, retail and shopping center leases, with a concentration in health club leasing (representing the parent entity of "New York Sports Clubs" in connection with its health club locations in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas). In addition, Ms. Donovan has extensive experience representing numerous commercial lenders in connection with real estate and related financing, including matters of hotel financing, and in handling commercial real estate transactions. Ms. Donovan has also represented numerous buyers and sellers in residential real estate closings.

Ms. Donovan is a member of the Columbian Lawyers Association, First Judicial Department. In addition, Ms. Donovan is an active supporter of Citymeals–on-Wheels and Bobbi and the Strays.

Lee Edelson

A partner at Donovan LLP, Mr. Edelson's practice focuses on commercial transactions in connection with office, retail and ground leasing matters, sales and acquisitions of shopping centers, industrial sites, office, residential and mixed use buildings as well as real estate development and commercial lending throughout the country.

Mr. Edelson represents local entrepreneurs, hotels, restaurant and lounge operating groups, owners, health clubs, and real estate developers in all aspects of transactional real estate. Additionally, he has represented national, foreign and community based lenders in connection with commercial loan transactions and workouts, including loans secured by real property, stock pledges and other business assets.

Lee received a J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2005, and a B.B.A. in Finance, Investment, and Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002. Mr. Edelson is admitted to practice in the state of New York.

Bryan McCrossen

A partner in the Real Estate Practice Group at Donovan LLP, Bryan McCrossen's practice covers a broad range of commercial real estate matters with an emphasis on sales, acquisitions, financing, developments, joint ventures, assemblages, leasing and land use.

Mr. McCrossen represents clients nationwide, including companies, individuals, institutions, and Real Estate Investment Trusts, in the sales, acquisitions, financing and refinancing of office buildings, hotels, multi-family properties, 1031 tax deferred exchanges, industrial facilities and shopping centers. He represents landlords and tenants in the leasing and subleasing of office, industrial, catering and retail space and owners in the negotiation of construction contracts and architects agreements.

In addition, Mr. McCrossen has also represented buyers, sellers and owners in residential real estate transactions.

Bryan earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Clemson University in 1996 and a Juris Doctor from The Hofstra University School of Law in 2000. Mr. McCrossen is admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Kevin J. Monaghan

Kevin J. Monaghan, Esq. is a partner in the Real Estate Group of Donovan LLP. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Monaghan worked as a Sergeant in the New York City Police Department.

Mr. Monaghan represents private clients and lending institutions in general commercial real estate matters, while focusing his practice on commercial real estate financing, commercial loan transactions, commercial mortgage foreclosures and commercial loan workout matters.

Mr. Monaghan holds a Juris Doctor degree from St. Johns University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

Mr. Monaghan is of counsel to the Young Mortgage Bankers Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Young Mortgage Bankers Association in several capacities since 2006.

Alan C. Polacek

Alan Polacek's range of professional experience includes corporate, banking and real estate law. He was previously a partner with Payne, Wood & LittleJohn (which merged with Farrell Fritz, P.C. in 2001) where he served as managing partner from 1996 to 2001. Mr. Polacek also worked in the underwriting department of Security Title and Guaranty Company from 1972 until 1980.

In the course of representation of lenders and borrowers, Mr. Polacek has handled all types of commercial loan transactions including term and revolving credit facilities, real estate secured loans, project financings, industrial revenue financings, letters of credit, tenant improvement loans, United States Small Business Administration financings, bonded lease and other credit enhanced facilities, inventory and receivable financing, multi-family property financing (FHLMC and conventional), hotel, resort and other specialty property secured loans, shopping center and office building financing and bank and mortgage banking regulatory matters. Mr. Polacek also handles commercial mortgage foreclosure and loan workout matters for four major lending institutions as well as for private clients.

Mr. Polacek holds a degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University and a Juris Doctor degree from Pace University.

Mr. Polacek, who is admitted to practice in New York, has served as a member of the Banking Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and in 1991 was elected a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.

Mr. Polacek serves on the Board of Directors of Family Residences and Essential Enterprises and the Board of Trustees of Heckscher Museum of Art.
